Change of Colors Basel 2020 – die grösste Wandgestaltung der Schweiz

Im August 2020 fand in Basel beim Bell-Areal ein Urban-Art-Event statt. Die internationalen Streetart-Grössen Mr. Cenz (UK), Bane & Chromeo (CH) und Bust (CH) haben auf einer Fläche von ca. 800m2 drei grosse Murals kreiert.

Ausserdem bemalten zudem 30 Kunstschaffende die weiteren Wände rund um das Areal in Basel. Auf einer Länge von über 200 Metern malten unter anderem nationale und internationale Grössen aus der Graffiti- und Streetart-Szene wie Fafa, Boogie, Pollo, Seifrei, Cole, Kesy, Kron, Tizer, Seyo, Sonic und viele mehr.

Alles in allem wurden so 1700 Quadratmeter Wand angemalt. Das ist schweizer Rekord!

Die Kunstschaffenden an der Hauptwand 20. - 30. August

Der Streetartist Julian Phethean aka Mr. CENZ ist international für seine einzigartigen, ausdrucks-starken Frauenporträts bekannt. Fliessende, kosmisch anmutende Formen in kräftigen Farben kennzeichnen seine Porträts von starken, selbstbewussten Frauen, die durch ihre abstrahierte Darstellung eine mystisch anmutende Aura erlangen. Unterstützt wird Mr. Cenz in Basel von dem englischen Graffitikünstler Tizer, der international für seinen unverwechselbaren, expressiven Stil bekannt ist.

Mit den beiden Schweizer Künstlern Fabian Florin aka BANE und David Kümin aka CHROMEO treten im nächsten Wandgemälde zwei Meister des Fotorealismus in einen gestalterischen Dialog. Die Werke der beiden zeichnen sich nicht nur durch ihre technische Virtuosität aus, sondern auch dadurch, dass sie stets einen kreativen Bezug zur Umgebung herstellen.

BANE hat nicht nur den Mühleturm in Chur zum neuen kulturellen Wahrzeichen der Stadt umgestaltet, seine Arbeiten sind auch in diversen anderen Orten Europas, Asiens und Nordafrikas zu finden. Mit seinen Wandgemälden, stets der Natur verbunden, erschafft er neue, traumhafte Welten voller Magie.

CHROMEO regt mit seinen Werken zum Nachdenken an. Mit einem Augenzwinkern greift er soziokulturell relevante Themen auf und setzt diese spielerisch in seinen collagierten Konzepten um. Die Hochglanzoptik seiner Arbeiten hat nichts illustratives, sondern wird zum ästhetischen Träger von Botschaften mit Tiefgang.

Die bunten Motive des Schweizer Streetart-Künstlers BUST wirken bekannt und doch überraschend neu. Mannigfaltige Inspirationen aus Comics, Cartoons und Pop Art werden von ihm in einen neuen, persönlichen Kontext übertragen. Immer spürbar ist in Busts Werken der Einfluss des klassischen Graffiti. Sein Stil ist das Ergebnis einer intensiven Auseinandersetzung mit den verschiedensten Inhalten und Techniken von Graffiti und Streetart. Ein Sammelsurium verschiedenster Einflüsse verbindet sich in seinen Werken zu einem höchst individuellen, unverwechselbaren Universum.
